At any given time, our yard contains stock of 30 to 40 used construction machinery and equipment. If we do not have what you need in stock here in South Africa, we can source to order from our suppliers abroad.
Camping Trailers
While on business in South Africa a few years ago we discovered the joy of using an off-road trailer camper that is common in that part of the world. As a family we enjoy regular camping here in Japan and have used truck based campers such as Toyota Dynas and Isuzus Elfs. I decided to import one of the off-road trailer campers from South Africa to Japan and we have used it ever since.
Firstly, the capital outlay for a trailer is only a fraction of the cost of the truck based campers. Additionally the running costs are much smaller as the road tax and gibaiseki is only 16.000 Yen per year. Literally no maintenance costs and the parking space required is about the same as a K-car.
The companies that manufacture the trailer and the tent have their origins in previously producing products for military application so the quality of engineering and materials is of a high standard. We have been through a typhoon in our trailer with no problems! (although not advisable but if you get caught in one it is nice to know).
One aspect we enjoy is in the constructing of the tent and the setting up. All in all it takes a few minutes to flip over the bedroom tent and peg it down and then you can attach the side awning if desired. Lots of fun and very educational for the children also.
My wife and I are not as young as we were so we enjoy a little more comfort when camping and the trailer camper affords a very large double bed with integrated mattress with is lovely! Additionally the heavy duty washable UV-varnished PVC material used for the tent keeps out the early morning light allowing for less disturbance when you wish to sleep in a little longer in the mornings especially with smaller children. In heavy rain it has proven to be 100% waterproof from the top and the bottom. The roof of the tent is double layered so no condensation and better insulation. Lots of headroom too for those that reach a little closer to the clouds.
The trailer when assembled consists of two areas: The bedroom and the awning area for the kitchen and dining/sitting area. The bedroom has an integrated floor and is totally screened and bug proof. The trailer itself provides ample storage space for all the equipment that makes camping life pleasant and more like home
